Ernie the Shrimp

Ernie is a large female amano shrimp, and is one of the key occupants of my aquarium.
The watercolour painting captures Ernie’s iridescence by using shades of blue, purple, pink, and green, reflecting the shimmering colors seen in the original photograph.
The original photograph of the shrimp is shown on the left.
The reference photograph, shown on the left, depicts Ernie resting on a piece of driftwood. Her translucent shell reflects the aquarium lights, creating a blue-purple sheen.
