I did a timeseries watercolour painting when my Hippeastrum flowered in 2021.

The painting on the left shows eight panels:

1) primary bud enlarged

2) primary flower open, secondary bud showing

3) primary flower wilting, secondary flower open, tertiary bud showing

4) primary flower dead, secondary flower finishing, tertiary flower opening

5) primary flower dead, secondary flower wilting, tertiary flower open

6) primary, secondary and tertiary flowers dead, with the secondary flower’s ovary enlarging

7) secondary flower’s ovary has enlarged into a three-lobed seed-head

8) seed-head has dried and split open, revealing black disc-shaped seeds
